Christian Education Director,
Marilyn Freeman
Marilyn has been involved in the ministry of Christian education for 18 years in the
United Church of Christ. She is a Tallmadge High graduate and holds a Bachelor of
Science from Heidelberg College. Marilyn is currently enrolled on Defiance College,
Design for Leadership working on a Bachelor ‘s degree in Christian Education.
Her passion is creating experiences for multiple learning styles so all of God’s
children can feel the presence of God in their lives. She believes that learning should
include lots of movement and fun.
Marilyn has led several mission trips with youth and adults, and traveled to the
Ukraine on a mission with “Sharing America’s Resources Abroad, a mission of the
United Church of Christ.
She serves on the Department of Church and Education of the Eastern Ohio
Association, and is the Ohio representative to the Great Lakes Association of the
United Church Educators, an advocate group for Christian educators.
In her spare time Marilyn’s hobbies include bowling, gardening, and reading.
