Stewardship Scholarship

Attention College bound high school seniors!  We wish you well along life’s
journey and hope to help you along the way with scholarship monies
available from the church Stewardship board.  Applications must be in by
April 30th for consideration.  Forms are available in the church office or
online.   Forward application to www.pilgrimpastor@ameritech.net.

    Stewardship Board Scholarship Program

The Stewardship Board of PUCC has established a scholarship program
which will operate according to the following principles:

1. The program is a budgeted line item in the Benevolence budget and is
thus funded by the congregation of Pilgrim Church through the members'
designated benevolence giving.
2. The Stewardship Board will establish the amount to be added to the
Scholarship fund every year as part of its annual budgeting procedure.
3.  It is expected that the amount budgeted each year will normally be
expended in that year, however, should any unexpended amount remain
in the fund at the end of the year, it will be carried over to the following
year and will be available for expenditure along with the new funds
received in that following year.
4.  Funds made available from the Scholarship program are grants, not
loans, and are thus not intended to be paid back.
5.  Members of Pilgrim Church who are active in the life of the congregation
are eligible to apply for Scholarship funds.
6.  An applicant may apply for any amount up to $1000 per year.
7.  The funds are to be used for any legitimate education purpose,
including, but not limited to, college education, continuing education,
trade school and seminars.
8.  It is expected that the educational program for which the funds are to be
used will in some way enhance the applicant's ability to apply Christian
principles to his or her subsequent life in the wider community.
9.  It is expected that the applicant is financially in need of the funds.
10.The application is to be submitted to the Scholarship Committee in writing,
using the
application form.
11.The applications will be evaluated by a committee consisting of the
Minister, the Christian Education Director, a delegate from the Christian
Education Board, and two delegates from the Stewardship Board.  The
Minister and CE Director serve ex-officio and do not have voting
authority.  This committee will report its recommendations to the
Stewardship Board.
12.The Stewardship Board will have the final authority on all grants.  The
Board retains the discretion to distribute all, some, or none of the funds
at its disposal among competing candidates in any proportions it deems
suitable.
13.The deadline for returen of applications to the Church office will be
April 30 of each year for funds to be granted in that year.
